Besides the information you provide when you take the survey, I'm recording these pieces of data when you submit the survey:
- When you took the survey
- What kind of computer, browser and operating system you're using
- How long it took you to complete the survey
- Weither you forget to fill something in or not
- What website or campaign you came from to take this survey, if any
- And your IP Address
I will not be sharing these things.
Your IP address is translated to your Country, Region and City. If you provided a location, I use it to finetune my ip database. These coordinates are very vague and can't be traced back to you.
What happens when the survey is over?
As I've alluded elsewhere, I will be opensourcing the data in this survey for further analysis. The data will be sorted randomly and delicate information (like your location) will be obfuscated as latidude and longitude coordinates.
If you provided an email address, I will probably send you updates about the Census. Emails are handled by MailChimp, so you don't have to worry about spam or anything. I will only use your email for Census-related updates. Promise.
I have a lot of Facebook integration going on with this thing. If you use Facebook you probably don't care about your privacy, so I don't know why you're reading this.
